Ford Fusion/ edge/ flex AWD PTU failures

Issue Status: Discussion

Power transfer unit for the AWD is a known issue with Ford and is not being addressed properly by the manufacturer. My vehicle started showing signs of failure at 62k miles.

I just bought a 08 ford edge from marshall tx ford dealership and the water pump has gone out with no sign of anything wrong no check engine light no sign or sensor only paid 2 car notes and they tell me its gonna cost 2100.00 to fix the problem really 14,000 dollars on a car u only drive for 3 months and now u have a 2100.00 dollar repair that's absurd. the water pump is internal and im by far the first person to b done so callous ford should back what they sell r quit selling what they don't believe in

Whisteling noise when brakes applied, at times hard to push brakes other times brakes very touchy. Brake booster? Ford needs to fix what they obviously didn't build right in the first place. Anybody have problems like this???
