Defective Fuel Control Module in 2006 Ford F150

Issue Status: Discussion

Ford knowingly put the fuel control module in a weather-exposed location near the spare tire and did not build a weatherproof module. In states that have salt/snow, the dissimilar metals corrode and rot out, exposing the circuit board to the weather and eventual failure. Failure can happen at any time and result in complete loss of engine, steering and braking power. Mine happened on a mountain road in the winter. Ford needs to step up to the plate and 1) issue a recall on NTSA. 2) reimburse owners for having to replace a part that should never have been allowed to go into production in the first place.
