BMW of North America recalls certain model year 2007-2010 X5 SAV vehicles

BMW

BMW is recalling certain model year 2007-2010 X5 SAV vehicles, manufactured September 12, 2006, through March 18, 2010 and equipped with an 8-cylinder engine. The brake vacuum pump may leak a small amount of lubricating oil into the hose. The contamination could result in a loss of power assist braking.

The loss of power assist in braking could increase stopping distance and lead to a vehicle crash.

BMW will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake vacuum line with one that contains a check valve, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in February 2013.

I have a 2005 SAV BMW 4.4 I Sports Package. I have had the same issue with my vehicle where my brake booster has went out and is a huge safety issue. My vehicle has the 2008 7 series brake booster in my vehicle.

I have a BMW 550i 2007, with the same issue. BMW has repeatedly told me that they will do nothing about my brake repair. I had to go to an independent repair shop in order to fix the problem that BMW has denied occured. I wrote the NHTSA a safety complaint. I will take BMW to small claims court in order to get a establish a precedent. What I would like to do is start a class action lawsuit. Any takers?
